The Journal of Biosemiotic Research (JBSR) is an open access, peer-reviewed international journal devoted to the study of the communication processes and signs in living organisms, as well as the nature of their object-related activities, and their consequences. With a focus on the phenomenology of semiotic systems of life, JBSR provides a platform for the exploration of such topics as the evolution of sign-mediated behaviour, the functioning of semiotic systems of behaviour, and the impact of biosemiotics on a range of disciplines such as biology, ecology, philosophy, psychology and cognitive sciences. 

 

JBSR is dedicated to the exchange of ideas and information, as well as critical analysis and debate in the world of biosemiotics. The journal publishes the highest quality research from researchers from around the globe, covering a wide range of topics in biosemiotic research. Submission Process:

Submission of articles to the Journal of Biosemiotic Research (JBSR) is open to all authors regardless of their affiliation. Submitted manuscripts should be formatted according to the journal's guidelines and include a major set of original research articles. Authors wishing to submit a manuscript should first register with the journal and submit their manuscripts online. All submitted manuscripts are subject to rigorous peer-review process, which may include editorial review, peer review or both.

Instructions to Prepare your article:

Authors should submit their manuscripts according to the provided guidelines. Submissions should include titles, abstracts, keywords, acknowledgements and author notes. All articles must include an introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusion, and references. Authors should use the appropriate style guide for their manuscripts and provide a full list of all sources of information used.

 

Article Processing Charge:

To ensure that the research published in JBSR is of the highest quality so to make submitted manuscript free to access it charges an article processing charge (APC) for each article submitted for publication. The APC for publishing in JBSR covers the costs of publishing, such as peer review, editing, formatting, hosting and archiving. The fees are used to ensure that the journal can sustain its research activities.
