Aims and Scope

The International Journal of Global Health (IJGH) is a multidisciplinary journal that provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and information from a wide range of disciplines and medical subspecialties related to global health. As a major platform for research in global health, the journal addresses a wide range of topics, including the social, economic, political, and environmental determinants of health, health risk behaviors, health services delivery, and health promotion.

The primary aim of the IJGH is to promote international collaboration and knowledge exchange between scholars, researchers, and practitioners. The journal seeks to fill a need to bridge the gap between international policymakers, practitioners, and researchers, as well as to facilitate the integration of evidence-based research into policy.

The journal accepts contributions from interdisciplinary fields, including epidemiology, primary healthcare, public health, nursing, global health economics, health policy, and health law, among others. The journal also welcomes submissions from emergent and existing areas of research, including environmental health, global health security, gender inequalities, and health systems.

The journal's scope includes public health and community health topics, including epidemiology, environmental health, mental health and neurological diseases, primary healthcare, public health policy and management, global health economics, health informatics and systems, health promotion, international health law and governance, health sector reform, non-communicable diseases, and nutrition.

The IJGH also emphasizes the importance of the evaluation and monitoring of programs, policies, and services to improve health outcomes. The journal is committed to publishing interdisciplinary contributions that consider 'upstream' and 'downstream' determinants of health, as well as the experiences of disadvantaged and marginalized populations in the context of global health.

In addition to original research, the IJGH encourages the submission of evidence syntheses, editorials, and commentaries related to topics in global health. The journal also publishes priority research letters, original research papers, and perspectives that discuss research or clinical advances, evidence-based interventions, emerging trends, or reviews of current policies in the area of global health.
