The Journal of Alternative Medicine and Mind Body Practices (JAMMBP) is an interdisciplinary open access publication devoted to providing a scholarly exploration of alternative and complementary practices in healthcare and mind body sciences. The journal focuses on a variety of research topics such as traditional Chinese medicine, integrated approaches, holistic health, and mind/body medicine. It seeks to define and explore a range of therapies, practices, and lifestyle interventions, to evaluate their efficacy in practice, and to identify and assess gaps in the evidence base. JAMMBP seeks to advance the understanding and practice of these therapies, and to inform patients, practitioners, and policy makers of their potential benefits and risks. 


The JAMMBP publishes original research and reviews, as well as commentary and debate pieces from international authors. It also encourages submissions from a range of disciplines, including anthropology, epidemiology, psychology, public health, health policy, sociology and social work, with the aim of increasing knowledge and stimulating debate about alternative/complementary medicine and mind body practices. All submissions to JAMMBP undergo a rigorous peer review process allowing for unlimited use and redistribution.

All authors must certify that their submissions have not been previously published elsewhere and that any overlapping material has been properly cited. The journal encourages authors to submit figures and tables with their manuscripts, as well as to observe ethical publishing guidelines.

Submissions to JAMMBP are accepted as long as they are in accordance with the submission guidelines. All accepted manuscripts are subject to a processing charge Authors are expected to cover the cost of publishing their manuscript in this journal.
