Biography:

  • I completed my PhD at the Bartlett, Faculty of the Built Environment at UCL, Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering (London, UK) on design implications for healthy buildings and optimal productivity and cognitive performance of occupants adopting an interdisciplinary research work which integrated Building Environmental Engineering with Psychology, Neurology, and Epidemiology.
  • I am a UK RIBA part II architect and Building Information Modeling (BIM) consultant with over 12 years of experience in architectural design and architectural technology, and over 4 years of experience in teaching digital architecture and sustainable architecture.
  • My specialty is designing for health and comfort and cognitive performance of occupants for bringing cutting-edge yet evidence based design solutions.
  • I am particularly interested in bridging the information gap between the conflicts between energy efficiency requirements and the standards/ regulations and/or requirements for indoor environmental/air quality and thermal comfort and the impact this may have on cognitive performance, health and productivity of occupants, and its application in design and building practice.
  • In industry, my experience covers a wide range of projects including Mixed-use, Educational, Commercial, Health Care and Residential buildings.
  • I am certified as professional from Autodesk since 2013 in BIM technology.
  • I am passionate about building technological advancement.
  • Since 2014, I have taken BIM lead roles in the UK building industry to deliver professional BIM consultancy to some of the UK leading architectural firms.
  • In academia, I have led, and significantly contributed to launching the Architectural Digital Design program at two of the most prestigious universities in Saudi Arabia.
  • I have taught and supervised over 200 students in 16 different architectural modules.
